    Children's Volunteer Health Network, an organization that provides free access to dental and mental health services to children in need in Northwest Florida, has announced the arrival of its second mobile dental clinic. The local community is invited to gather at Grand Boulevard on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., for an exciting bus unveiling. Community members will be able to enjoy refreshments, and lawn games, meet Mr. and Mrs. Tooth, tour the bus, and hear from CVHN team members about the new services coming to Northwest Florida.

  • Sundog Books Donates Books to Local Teachers in Honor of Teacher Appreciation Month

All Walton County teachers with a current teacher identification badge can visit Sundog Books from May 1 to June 30 to select a free children's or young adult book of their choice to be used in their classroom libraries.

  • 20th Anniversary Seaside School Race Weekend Surpasses Expectations with Over $700K Raised

    On a sunny and brisk Sunday, February 20th, 2022, 3,200 runners from the local area and 40 states took their places at the start line in the New Urbanism town of Seaside, Florida, to participate in the 20th running of the Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K. The Seaside School Foundation proudly reports that over $700,000 was raised to benefit the Seaside School, Inc., through Seaside Race Weekend efforts.

It returned on Saturday, November 6, for its fifth annual event after a year’s hiatus due to the pandemic and raised over $100,000 to help children in need in Northwest Florida. The mission is simple: to connect wine enthusiasts to raise money to benefit children in need in NW Florida. At VIE, we feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to support important causes through partnerships with real-world heroes. As some of you may already know, our VIE Beach House Show Home, seen in our April 2021 Issue, was built to give back not only to our community but to others around the globe who need it the most. With the help of the home's developers Jim and Suzy Accola, we partnered with The Sonder Project and Food For Thought Outreach to donate a portion of the proceeds from the home's sale.

  • Endurance Athlete Geoff Speyrer Reprises Set-22 Challenge for Wounded Warriors

    Army veteran, Geoff Speyrer, is the highlight of the SET-22 event, held on 21-22 May 21, starting at 12:00 midnight, Harbor Tavern, Destin, Florida. The event will end with an after-party scheduled at Harbor Tavern.     Nearly 1,700 runners participated in the 19th Annual Seaside School Virtual Half Marathon and 5K race from Sunday, February 14th to Sunday, February 28th, 2021. Ranging in ages from two to 82 years-old, participants represented 37 states and various countries including Spain, the United Kingdom and Canada.

Cameron Davis is a local fifteen-year-old girl from Northwest Florida diagnosed in the past couple of years with Chronic Ehlers Danlos Ligament Disease. This condition results in joint dislocations and chronic body pain.
