When we live in a community abounding with beautiful beaches and gorgeous luxury homes, it is imperative to remind ourselves that this is not the reality for most of our world. At VIE, we feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to support important causes through partnerships with real-world heroes. As some of you may already know, our VIE Beach House Show Home, seen in our April 2021 Issue, was built to give back not only to our community but to others around the globe who need it the most. With the help of the home's developers Jim and Suzy Accola, we partnered with The Sonder Project and Food For Thought Outreach to donate a portion of the proceeds from the home's sale.

Healing Hoof Steps in Crestview, Florida, is a local nonprofit offering this type of service that focuses on building mental and emotional health through spending time around horses. Its founder, Narissa Jenkins, and her incredible healing journey through the help of these majestic animals is awe-inspiring. After experiencing the profound effects of horse therapy for herself, she felt called to share this with others. VIE caught up with Jenkins to hear about what's happened in the past few years and how Healing Hoof Steps is continuing to change lives daily. 

Celebrating incredible success in its first year as an affiliate of The Corcoran Group, Corcoran Reverie – a boutique brokerage specializing in the high-end home market with offices in Seagrove Beach and Destin – hosted Reverie 365: A Celebration of Success on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at the firm’s Seagrove Beach office. Corcoran Reverie welcomed more than 300 guests to the celebration that included live music by Yacht Rock Schooner Trio, a live painting by local artist Maxine Orange, and a silent auction that raised $6,130 for The Sonder Project – which Corcoran Reverie matched – bringing the total donation to $12,260.

Rosé is a way of life, and no place celebrates (and educates) better than The Hampton Social. With multiple locations across the US, the American restaurant is known for its rosé-all-day ethos and coastal-inspired cuisine. The aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and hand-crafted cocktails make it the crème de la crème for after-work happy hours or Sunday Fundays with girlfriends. On June 12, 2021, The Hampton Social in Nashville celebrated its favorite beverage—rosé, of course—with the first annual Pink Party! Soleil Soiree will include the ribbon cutting and launch celebration of the VIE show home, a blessing of the house, and information on the show home and the Heritage Dunes north community. The event will take place at the homesite, 68 Heritage Dunes Lane North, on Thursday, June 24, beginning at 4:00 p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be performed in partnership with the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce. A private beach reception will follow with small bites and cocktails catered by Éclat 30a.

Former VIE cover artist Heather Haynes will be featured in Pitroda Art, Movement: Art for Social Change. Haynes is one of twelve international artists, whose art will be projected onto iconic buildings in five cities in the United States this summer. Haynes' featured piece is titled "Universal Love" and it depicts an elderly couple from an indigenous Mbuti Village. The piece conveys the message of humanity's universal language of love - the answer to all the world's problems. Patrons can also buy the pieces via online auction.

We're so excited that former VIE intern Sammi Accola released her debut single, "Nostalgia," on April 16! The song was inspired by a quote by John Pantana that said, "Nostalgia has a way of rose-coloring our past misery." As a self-described Folk-Pop Americana artist, Sammi has released a debut song that is as dreamy as it is relatable. The accompanying music video released on April 30, and you can watch it here. Congratulations, Sammi!

Army veteran, Geoff Speyrer, is the highlight of the SET-22 event, held on 21-22 May 21, starting at 12:00 midnight, Harbor Tavern, Destin, Florida. The endurance event will start on Friday (21 May) and continue throughout the night and into the next day/evening, Saturday (22 May). The event will end with an after-party scheduled at Harbor Tavern. There will be aid stations and opportunities to sponsor along the way, so show your support and cheer Geoff on as he brings awareness to veteran suicide/races to the finish.

Over the weekend, the president of the European Commission announced that fully vaccinated Americans will be able to travel to the 27 EU member states this summer, spurring excitement among U.S. travelers eager to visit the Continent.
