A Journey to Tanzania

Author Anne W. Schultz of the article “The Greatest Show on Earth” in our new Voyager Issue has been around the world, but never seen anything that compares to the wild, raw beauty of the African landscape. Her story highlights her safari through the country’s savannas and lake lands, counting wildebeests, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and much more with her family, including her daughter, photographer Alison Schultz.
“A walking safari offers a step-by-step transition from an industrialized Western landscape paved over in concrete, cities, and shopping malls into a world described in Genesis,” Anne describes Tanzania’s Arusha and Kilimanjaro Parks. “The skies are thick with birds, the plains are covered with animals, and the seas are teeming with marine creatures. Nature reclaims the wildness and the liveliness it had before mankind dominated the scene.”
A journey through one of the world’s last truly wild places could be exhilarating and sate even the deepest wanderlust. We were excited to go on this trip with the Schultz family within the pages of VIE!
