Dearest Reader, the VIE Team thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the intersection between past and future along with the announcement of the winners of this year's Digital Graffiti festival at Le Bon Ton, An Artistic Garden Affair in Alys Beach, Florida, on May 19, 2023. We donned our best Bridgerton-inspired frocks and partook in sips from Gulf Water Wines and Coastal Coffee Bar Co., savory and sweet treats from The Salty Butcher and On The Fly PCB, and the musical stylings of a string quartet and pianist by Top Hat Live, aka The Whistledowns.

The Charleston Library Society and Charleston Farmhouse teams did an incredible job coordinating this high-brow, enlightening festival, and the VIE team was delighted to attend and be a part of such a phenomenal long weekend in “The World’s Favorite City.”

Some say, “the world is your oyster”—however, the team at Peat & Pearls says the oyster is their world! On October 4–7, 2018, we joined the Second Annual Peat & Pearls festival in downtown Pensacola to celebrate two of their favorite things: Scotch and delicious oysters.

With stimulating lectures and elegant receptions at the historic Charleston Library Society and Dock Street Theatre, Charleston To Charleston is the cultural destination this November 8–11.

The prettiest pearls wouldn’t exist without a little grit, and the Gulf Coast, known for its opulent sugar-white beaches and Old South charm, was built on the backs of fishermen, sailors, and seafarers. Peat & Pearls celebrates this heritage through two of our favorite things: Scotch and oysters.

The weather is heating up and our hearts are warmed after the Spring Soirée at J.McLaughlin in Grand Boulevard Town Center, co-hosted by VIE with 15 percent of proceeds from the sip-and-shop style event benefiting Alaqua Animal Refuge. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this an impressive event!
