Heartthrobs, Hollywood, TikTok, and anecdotes you didn’t know you needed costar in VIE’s annual Entertainment Issue. We raise the question of what it means to be a star in today’s times as technology continues to lift the curtains of traditional fame. Our cover gentleman, Harry Styles, knows better than anyone that it’s not the same as it was. Yet, even with his immense fame, the star continues to spread joy through his music, fashion, and overall message of acceptance, resulting in an undeniable appeal that writer Emma Crowley breaks down in the feature story. Of course, we cannot recognize the new state of celebrity affairs without acknowledging yesteryear. Captivating tales of Hollywood’s most famous studio backdrops, a couple giving new life to flapper Josephine Baker’s home in Marrakesh, and an appreciation of cinematic and storytelling history provide essential context to entertainment’s evolution. Finally, we bring the story home by adjusting the spotlight toward the local arts in our Northwest Florida home, recognizing that great talent is everywhere if you know where to look.
