After almost two months of going through construction dedicated to the installation of the theater, it is finally open to the public. Earlier this morning, the museum celebrated by airing their foundation’s flagship film, “The Magic of Flight.”
This large-scale theater is not like your average cineplex screen, as it boast all the bells and whistles: a premium laser-illuminated 2-D projection with 4K resolution, nine million pixels on screen, and a powerful new sound system that gives Bose a run for its money. It’s ADA compliant and fully equipped with new carpeting and rubberized flooring, LED lighting, wider luxury seating with armrests, double cup holders, and custom tables between most seats, providing everyone what they want when they go to the theater—personal space!
Although the impressive 325-seat theater will continue to run daily, showing about seven exciting educational films per day, it’s also been sited for various community events such as choral events, ballets, lectures, and presentations.
