On February 9, 2025, PatBO brought the bold and vibrant spirit of Brazil to New York during New York Fashion Week (NYFW). The PatBO Carnaval Gala paid tribute to Rio’s iconic Carnaval, merging Brazil’s energy, colors, and joy with PatBO’s signature elegance and contemporary style.
Patricia Bonaldi collaborated with renowned jewelry designer Eduardo Caires, known for his sculptural, hand-crafted crystal pieces, to reinterpret Carnaval’s iconic elements—think elaborate headpieces and statement jewelry. Together, they created exclusive designs blending both brands’ artistic visions. Signature floral motifs were reimagined and deconstructed into innovative forms resembling feathers, while Caires’ crystals took on striking pink and red gradients, complementing PatBO’s signature prints, airy fabrics, and distinctive silhouettes.
The collection was a bold fusion of artisanal craftsmanship and the exuberance of Brazil’s Carnaval traditions. With vibrant colors and rich textures, each piece captured the cultural essence of Rio de Janeiro in a strikingly modern way.
“Carnaval is Brazil’s most magical celebration and an endless source of inspiration for us,” said Patricia Bonaldi, founder of PatBO.
We wanted to capture its energy, joy, and exuberance in a sophisticated and modern way, celebrating our culture for those who see fashion as both art and self-expression.
Eduardo Caires, founder of his eponymous brand, reflected on the collaboration: “My brand was born in Carnaval 2019 and took on a life of its own beyond anything I could have imagined. My statement pieces filled the streets, parades, and gala balls, adding even more sparkle to Brazil’s most iconic celebration.”
For his NYFW debut, Caires shared: “It was an honor to showcase my work here, inspired by our culture and Carnaval. My creations are crafted intuitively, reflecting my artistry, and I was thrilled to share them with an audience that appreciates fashion as an art form.”
Exclusive Pre-Sale
Following the unveiling, a pre-sale offered the opportunity to secure these one-of-a-kind pieces. Each design was released in numbered editions, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity—turning every item into a wearable work of art for those looking to make a statement.
