Maison 30A Home + Garden’s Tips for 2025
Interview by Jordan Staggs
Organic modern design meets the coastal classic style at Maison 30A Home + Garden. This Panama City Beach-based Florida lifestyle destination combines modern minimalism with natural elements to create cozy and sophisticated living spaces for clients, blending contemporary and classic aesthetics inspired by the beauty of nature.
Anyone walking through the array of pottery, furnishings, art, and decor at Maison 30A will find themselves in an idyllic sanctuary offering inspiration at every turn. The expansive indoor-outdoor showroom’s meticulously curated pieces embrace the beauty of natural materials and the innovation of modern synthetics, led by designer/owner Christopher Bailey and his team.
The store features handcrafted furniture, lighting, art, pottery, and decor made from sustainable and reclaimed woods, stone, concrete, and organic textiles. “Our collections integrate innovative synthetic and natural materials that mimic the elegance and texture of nature, creating a harmonious balance between eco-consciousness and high-end luxury,” Bailey shares. From weather-resistant outdoor furniture and pottery to stunning indoor furniture and accent pieces that echo the serenity of the coast, each item is thoughtfully designed and curated to elevate any space, indoors or out.
He continues, “The garden section offers the largest selection of unique planters on the Gulf Coast, coastal-inspired Mediterranean planters, and modern minimalist concrete planters. Our collections are perfect for creating a seamless flow between home and nature. Driftwood and teak root sculptures, furniture, and woven rattan pieces bring a tactile, organic touch to our design style, while sleek concrete designs give our store a modern edge. Every corner of the store radiates a refined yet relaxed atmosphere, with airy, light-filled displays designed to evoke the modern or classic coastal lifestyle design.”
Whether outfitting your backyard with coastal-chic furniture and pottery or furnishing your entire home or condo, Maison 30A offers everything you need to create your own oasis. We were thrilled to catch up with Chris Bailey to talk about his destination boutique home and garden store, enhancing the beauty of your home to live harmoniously with nature, and what tips and trends he’s seeing for 2025 and beyond!
VIE: What was the inspiration behind your latest projects?
Chris Bailey: I recently spent a month overseas, traveling to multiple countries, gathering materials and inspiration for our latest design collections. The combination of the natural and synthetic materials sourced will be transformed into our latest collections by our team of artisans and craftsmen and will be available at the store in early spring and summer. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming new collections!
VIE: Tell us a little about your recent exhibitions in Texas. What are you showcasing there, and how have the guests been reacting?
CB: We have our largest exhibitions at Blue Hills Round Top in Texas three times a year. It is undoubtedly a favorite destination for interior designers and serious antique shoppers during Texas Antique Week. With its rustic charm and beautiful pole barns, it offers an unforgettable experience for those who love antiques and high-end design, with a 50-acre property, 150,000 square feet of shopping space, and over 85 curated vendors. There is a truly diverse range of products here.
The newly opened barns feature a unique “party barn” gathering space that perfectly showcases Maison 30A’s coastal chic furniture and organic modern designs, adding a touch of elegance to the rustic setting. During the Fall 2024 show, the outdoor spaces I designed and furnished with Maison 30A products became a highlight, with shoppers and dealers alike enjoying the comfortable, stylish environment.
Looking ahead to the upcoming March show, Spring 2025, everyone is excited to return to this space and experience it all over again. Our beautiful coastal-inspired pieces are also available for purchase in our stunning showroom in Barn D, where visitors can find our latest collections. For anyone seeking a blend of antique treasures and high-design furnishings, Blue Hills is a must-see destination in Round Top.
Visit Maison 30A and Morning Glory Art & Design March 22–April 5, open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily in Round Top, Texas, at our barn showroom in Building D, and enjoy our latest installation of furniture and pottery at the party barn during the show!
VIE: What are some trends you’re seeing in design for this year and coming seasons?
CB: Textural Contrasts, Coastal Classics, Organic Modern, and Coastal Chic:
Inspired by the beauty of nature, earthy and neutral tones and organic materials create a sense of delight and harmony in your living spaces.
Neutral and Earthy Tones: Colors like beige, taupe, and Griege are dominating, reflecting a preference for calm, grounded spaces. These hues create a serene and timeless aesthetic that allows flexibility with various textures and accent colors.
Natural Materials: There is a strong focus on using natural materials such as rope, rattan, reclaimed wood, stone, and concrete. These materials evoke warmth, texture, and sustainability, aligning with the organic modern design style.
Sculptural Curves in Furniture: Soft, organic shapes in furniture, both indoor and outdoor, are trending. Curved lines in seating, tables, and decor pieces add a sense of fluidity and comfort to spaces.
Sustainability: Eco-friendly and sustainable practices in design are continuing to grow, with a focus on using recycled materials, upcycled furniture, and sustainable production methods. These trends are shaping a style that’s all about simplicity, comfort, and a deep connection to the natural world. It’s a return to calm and natural aesthetics, combining functionality and beauty.
VIE: How can our readers follow your lead to live the ultimate indoor-outdoor lifestyle in their homes?
CB: To create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces like porches or pool decks, it’s essential to focus on design continuity and flow. Here’s how homeowners and designers can achieve that:
1. Use Consistent Flooring: Extending the same flooring material from the interior to the outdoor areas, such as hardwood or stone tiles, helps create a visually uninterrupted space. It’s an effective way to merge the two zones and make the space feel larger.
2. Maximize Openings: Large sliding or folding glass doors are ideal for connecting indoor and outdoor areas. They can be opened fully to create a seamless flow, inviting natural light and fresh air into the interior.
3. Cohesive Furnishings and Decor: Matching outdoor furniture with indoor pieces, coordinated textiles, plants, and planters ensures a harmonious design. This alignment makes the indoor and outdoor spaces feel like part of a unified whole.
4. Landscaping and Lighting: Subtle landscaping changes like elevated planters or low-level lighting along pathways can create a sense of continuity without overwhelming the space. Incorporating outdoor elements like planters, fountains, and sculptures into the design helps blur the lines further.
5. Incorporating Indoor Comfort Outdoors: Utilize weather-resistant furniture and cozy seating areas outdoors to encourage the extended use of the space.
To bring these ideas to life, the first step is to measure your spaces and take detailed photos.
Afterward, visit Maison 30A to discuss your project with our in-house design team to explore the possibilities and fine-tune the design. VIE: What can you tell us about some of Maison 30A’s recent brand partnerships for art, furniture, and other decor?
CB: At Maison 30A, we’re always looking for pieces that marry durability with beautiful design, and Tupelo Goods outdoor furniture is a perfect example of that. We carry the full collection in-store, and our customers love that they can experience the sculptural forms and incredible craftsmanship firsthand. The line’s marine-grade construction makes it ideal for coastal living—resistant to salt air, sun exposure, and the wear and tear of daily use. It’s the kind of furniture that looks just as good years down the line as it does on day one, which is exactly what our clientele is looking for. Partnering with Tupelo has been a natural fit, and we’re thrilled to showcase their collection here at Maison 30A.
Savanna Kidd of Morning Glory Art & Design has just returned from France and beyond, bringing an exquisite array of new collections to Maison 30A, featuring enchanting French tapestries and stunning onyx vases, bowls, and lighting for the new year. Morning Glory collaborates with a talented group of artists from France to create large-scale, limited-edition prints derived from original artworks and archival images. Each piece is meticulously crafted using recycled paper, hand-applied antique glazes, and distress techniques, resulting in contemporary artworks that possess both depth and a sense of timelessness.
Maison 30A is not just a shopping destination; it’s a celebration of the coastal lifestyle, inviting customers to create their own tranquil retreats filled with beauty and serenity.
