Laura’s journey in design is steeped in diverse experiences and deep familial influences. Raised in South Texas with her weekdays spent in Corpus Christi and weekends at the family ranch, Laura’s design ethos was molded by a life lived in varied landscapes and the profound teachings of her grandmothers. One grandmother’s flair for interior elegance through custom upholstery and antiques, coupled with another’s skills in sewing and crafting, endowed Laura with a dual legacy of classic taste and inventive design.

In 2024, as L. Hamilton & Co. celebrates twelve years and over 165 projects, this beach house stands as a pinnacle of Laura’s design evolution. The residence sprawls along the scenic corridor of Highway 30-A, a setting that is both idyllic and inspiring. Each of the seven bedrooms, including a whimsical bunk room and a quaint carriage house, boasts breathtaking views of the Gulf, seamlessly blending the indoors with nature.

This newly renovated home showcases that passion, alongside the homeowners’ coastal lifestyle infused contemporary style.

The heart of the home underwent significant transformations, with the most extensive renovations seen in the communal spaces of the kitchen and living room. The infusion of natural light through newly added windows elevates the airy, open-plan design, while the addition of a butler’s pantry adds a touch of old-world charm juxtaposed with modern functionality. The use of White Santorini Quartzite countertops and pecky cypress ceilings in these areas brings warmth and texture and echoes the serene coastal landscape outside.

Laura’s previous two-decade career as a gemologist and luxury jewelry designer is evident in her meticulous attention to detail. This skill translates beautifully into interior design, where each element of the home’s decor is thoughtfully chosen and placed. Custom furniture pieces like the curved dining banquette and the floating media console showcase the bespoke craftsmanship that L. Hamilton & Co. is known for. These pieces are not merely functional but are works of art that enhance the overall aesthetic and experience of the home.

The dining room, distinguished by its striking Schumacher Kanji mural wallpaper, creates a focal point that is both artistic and intimate. Turkish rugs and Schumacher fabrics add layers of luxury and heritage throughout the home, grounding the modern build in tradition and tactile pleasure.
