Inspired by the escapism witnessed as trips to space become more frequent and science fiction themes merge with reality, the Schiaparelli Spring 2022 collection shown in Paris presented daringly unconventional designs in this post-pandemic landscape. Designer Daniel Roseberry purposefully refined the theatrical looks to tell a story no one had seen before. A standout was this Medusa headdress constructed from hand-molded leather and adorned with ornaments covered in gold lead, embroidered with cabochons, vintage jewels, rhinestones, and anatomical resin elements. We can’t wait to see how fashion evolves as more designers follow in the mystical direction Schiaparelli has embraced in these changing times.
