Husband-and-wife duo and founders of Quest Hospitality Concepts Jeremy and Angela Walton are pleased to announce a forthcoming third restaurant: Scout. Set to open in summer 2025, Scout is a refined sports tavern located adjacent to scenic Highway 30A in the Watersound Origins community that offers an elevated yet approachable, full-service dining experience. The restaurant embodies the playful spirit and excitement of the sporting world coupled with an established club feel that evokes both timelessness and familiarity.
“We are thrilled to announce our third concept, Scout,” said owner Jeremy Walton. “This addition to our restaurant portfolio has been a true labor of love. From the initial inspiration and thoughtful menu creation from Executive Chef Tory McPhail to the meticulous sourcing of our vintage sports memorabilia and interior décor, Scout will be a one-of-a-kind experience. Guests will be able to enjoy a game, sit back, and stay a while in an inviting atmosphere filled with old-school sporting nostalgia.”
The culinary programming at Scout will be helmed by James Beard Award-winning Executive Chef and Director of Culinary Tory McPhail. The menu will showcase the best of classic American tavern fare, with an expertly crafted selection of appetizers, salads, elevated burgers, prime steaks, and local seafood. Scout’s beverage program will feature creative twists on classic cocktails, a selection of domestic and imported beers, bourbons, and whiskeys, in addition to an eclectic wine list.
Guests can expect an inviting atmosphere rich in character and intentional design, with vintage sports memorabilia showcased throughout. The interiors are designed in collaboration between architect David Thompson Studio and Quest Hospitality Concepts. In keeping with the established club feel, guests will be welcomed by rich wood paneling, luxurious leather seating, and elegant accents of brass, gold, and deep green hues – alongside a selection of televisions for game watching enjoyment. Scout is parceled into four distinct, lively spaces for guests to enjoy the full sports tavern experience, including the bar and lounge, the dining room, the game room, and the courtyard and outdoor lounge, each with their own personality and intrigue.
“I am excited to be part of this next culinary venture for Quest Hospitality Concepts and look forward to bringing the vision of Scout to life,” said McPhail. “This restaurant seamlessly blends an elevated dining experience with the playful spirit of sports and the sophistication of a classic club atmosphere. It will be a destination for 30A where delicious food, excellent drinks, and celebratory moments come to life.”
McPhail recently joined the Quest Hospitality Concepts team as Executive Chef and Director of Culinary for the group in March 2025. He brings with him extensive experience from working at renowned restaurants around the world, including The Breakers Hotel and Commander’s Palace, and he was named the recipient of the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: South in 2013. Quest Hospitality Concepts’ portfolio also includes The Citizen and Fonville Press, both located in Alys Beach, FL.
Scout will be open for walk-in availability. Additional details, including the opening date and hours of operation, will be announced soon.
