Jordan Staggs
Editor
From an early age, Jordan Staggs created stories, poems, and jokes in books made with construction paper and crayons. When her poem about spaghetti was published on the kids’ page of her local newspaper around age nine, she knew she wanted to see more of her work in print someday. A stint as the editor of her high school yearbook later led to the realization that she also loves the creative layout process you don’t often find in traditional news outlets, and she decided to pursue a career in the magazine world. (Did we mention The Devil Wears Prada, 13 Going on 30, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days were some of her favorite movies at that time?)
Jordan has been part of VIE’s creative team since 2011, spending that summer interning at the publication’s publishing, branding, PR, and marketing agency, The Idea Boutique®. She remained on board as a freelance writer while completing her degree in Journalism from The University of Alabama’s College of Communications (Roll Tide!), then returned full-time in the summer of 2012. She has penned numerous stories for VIE and other publications, edited multiple books, traveled the globe, interviewed celebrities, attended Fashion Weeks, helped with event planning, and much more over the past decade. Jordan works with VIE’s team of freelance writers worldwide and oversees the magazine’s daily production. The resident word wizard at The Idea Boutique®, you can usually find her writing, editing, and working with clients to ensure their communications are next-level in print and online. She has also authored three luxury coffee-table books at the company—HOME by VIE, COOK by VIE, and The Seaside Style®.
She is a book, film, and music lover, an avid advocate of the written word, a poet, and a world traveler. The land of fantasy is her true home, and she enjoys writing fiction in her free time. She plans to publish her own novels one day so others can join her in an enchanted kingdom, a galaxy far, far away, or somewhere in between.
As the host of the VIE Book Club podcast, Jordan is also excited to interview authors and creatives in the book industry, curate her favorite reads, navigate her ever-growing TBR, share reviews, chat about the best (and worst) film and TV adaptations, explore bookish destinations, and much more!
