30A Songwriters Festival 2016 Is Here!
Hooks, Lines and singers gather around!
Where words fail, music speaks! There isn’t a better event to experience that than at the 30A Songwriters Festival set to take place in venues along Northwest Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A and South Walton communities during January 15, 16, and 17.
For those of you who don’t know about the Songwriters Festival, it’s an event widely known in the music community celebrating music from songwriters and performers and is hosted by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA).
This year’s seventh annual 30A Songwriters Festival will team up with NPR’s Folk Alley, a multimedia music service, who will be filming and recording the performances and interviewing the artists throughout the weekend. The event will feature 150 songwriters and have over 200 performances to enjoy in South Walton’s amphitheaters, town halls, restaurants, theaters, and bars—all which are transformed into unique music venues giving fans the chance to connect with their favorite artists in an intimate, relaxed setting.
“I think we will all look back on 2016 as the year that the 30A Songwriters Festival fully comes of age,” says Jennifer Steele, co-producer and executive director of the CAA. She goes on to explain, “All of the South Walton community embraces and supports the event financially, as volunteers, as participating musicians, or as attendees, and thousands of fans who travel here in January attest, music lovers across the country are fully on board.”
Festival weekend passes are $250 and are currently sold at 30ASongwritersFestival.com and locally in South Walton at the Cultural Arts Alliance office and at Central Square Records in Seaside, Florida.
The long list of headliners performing consists of admirable artists such as Jackson Browne, Grace Potter, Shovels & Rope, and Wine, Women & Song featuring Matraca Berg, Suzy Bogguss & Gretchen Peters.
Other artists confirmed to perform at the event are Ani DiFranco, Emerson Hart (Tonic), Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Shawn Mullins, Jay Farrar (from Son Volt), Peter Holsapple (the dB’s), Drew Holcomb, Jeffrey Steele, Parker Millsap, Dan Bern, Steve Poltz, Hayes Carll, Charlie Mars, Grant-Lee Phillips, Bob Schneider, David Ryan Harris (John Mayer Band), David Hodges (Evanescence), Bobby Bare Jr., Chris Stills, Jim Lauderdale, Calleghan, Kris Delmhorst, Kristy Lee, BettySoo, Randall Bramblett, Griffin House, Jennifer Knapp, Toby Lightman, Liz Longley, and Heather Maloney.
