Up in the Air

“I always wanted to take a beautiful, unique air balloon photo,” says Remington VanHouten. “Air balloons are so rare here in the southeastern part of the US that I never really thought it would happen. My fiancée and I had gotten up at 4:30 a.m. (and I am not an early bird) for a road trip from Tennessee to Louisiana, and after we got onto the interstate, we passed a field with a balloon being blown up as the sun was rising. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up, and we pulled over. I got lucky when the folks in the balloon saw me photographing them as they started to rise into the air. They waved at me, and when I waved back, they moved the balloon toward me. As they passed over, I was lucky enough to get some incredible photos!”
