Wine down for a good cause!

Our favorite wines are the ones we drink with friends in the beautiful beach towns along Scenic Highway 30-A in Northwest Florida. This weekend we’ll do just that in the coastal New Urban community of Alys Beach for the Fifth Annual 30A Wine Festival.

Showcasing renowned vintners and popular local eateries, the four-day celebration will kick off Thursday, March 10, and go through Sunday, March 13. As always, the festival will benefit Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN), which works to enhance the lives of uninsured or under-insured children by facilitating the care that children need and deserve. To find out more about the wonderful organization, visit CVHN’s website.

The festival will start off on Thursday, March 10 with a fabulous wine dinner featuring renowned vintner Tor Wines selected by Tor Kenward. Guests will delight in a four-course meal prepared by Chef Kevin Korman of Alys Beach’s Caliza Restaurant.

The festivities will spread onto a “Sip ’n’ Slide” into bourbon, beer, and butts, (of course we’re referencing barbecue) on Friday in Fonville Park at Alys Beach. Indulge in a tasting of various bourbon whiskeys provided by Richard Stabile, master distiller of New York’s farm-to-bottle distillery Long Island Spirits. What about the slide part? Prepare to bring an appetite and your dancing shoes, and dish on tasty sliders while live music from Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi Allstars, Amy LaVere, Will Sexton, and Sharde Thomas will set the tone and keep the party flowing all night!

Have you always daydreamed about being a sommelier? Now you can! Well, at least, now you can act the part, that is, when you purchase a 30A Wine Fest weekend or Saturday pass. Swirl, sip, learn, repeat! Master your wine knowledge when you take in sips and tips from from the country’s best wine vintners, then test your skills later that night at a grand tasting.

The festival elegantly ends with some rosé and a game of croquet. So put on your croquet whites, gather up your team, and play in the Fourth Annual Croquet Tournament while you savor in the sweet taste of rosé. Hey, the festival has to come to an end one way or another—we might as well make it grand.

Spice up your weekend and get tickets to the event at 30AWineFestival.com. What’s not to love? Wine, whiskey, and food with great friends, a scenic view, music, and all for a good cause? Sounds like the best way to enjoy a glass or two of vino to us!
