Trevor Cheney × Christopher Farr: Threads of Expression

What emerges when fine textile craftsmanship meets design storytelling? In their new collaborative collection, designer Trevor Cheney and textile house Christopher Farr draw from personal memory and material mastery to craft rugs that embody both rhythm and restraint. The series explores three motifs—“Lanes,” “Blocks,” and “Flags”—inspired by Cheney’s own swimming career and transformed through Farr’s hand-knotted wool and silk construction. Cheney’s minimal diagrams find expression in Farr’s rich textures, elevating the rug from a mere underfoot accessory to an immersive art piece. Together they demonstrate that great design need not shout, it can anchor a room with quiet conviction.

Trevor Cheney × Christopher Farr debuted a new collection at Seventh House Gallery in Hollywood in October 2025. This decorative screen, created by artist Bev Houlding, was displayed alongside the collection.
