The Joy of Christmastime

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” — Psalm 28:7

I’m always a little amazed at how the holiday season never loses its magic for me. Every year, as December draws near, my spirits lift at the thought of decorating, planning menus, shopping for gifts, gathering with family, and simply allowing life to slow down for a moment. There’s something grounding in pressing pause and remembering that home isn’t just a place—it’s the people you share it with, no matter where you are.

This year has been a winding journey for many of us—a year of transition, recalibration, and unexpected turns. If it felt long to you, know that you weren’t alone. And yet, here we are, approaching the close of another year, and I find myself grateful, hopeful, and assured that all is well with my soul, and I pray the same for yours.

Our Christmas issue—our final issue of the year—is a joyful one, brimming with the warmth and wonder of the season. To my remarkable young team, whose energy and creativity continue to elevate this magazine: thank you. Your talent and dedication shine through every page, and we send you into the new year with all the good tidings you so richly deserve.
