There’s a version of summer that doesn’t revolve around pace or predictability. Positioned within the Himalayan rain shadow, Ladakh brings a sense of place, alongside a slower rhythm of travel. —Shakti Himalaya
Shakti Ladakh reopens in May 2026 for a season shaped by high-altitude desert landscapes, ancient monastic festivals, and the kind of cultural access that most travel doesn’t offer. Running through September, itineraries can be timed around Ladakh’s most significant ceremonial calendar: the Yuru Kabgyat Festival (19–20 June) at Lamayuru Monastery, with its sacred masked dances; the Hemis Festival (24–25 June), Ladakh’s largest annual celebration honoring Guru Padmasambhava; and the Ladakh Festival (1–15 September), a regional program of polo, archery and cultural performances across the valley. Guests stay in restored village homes across Nimoo, Stok, and Likir—private, chef-staffed, and rooted in place—rather than hotels.
