January 2026

Spring Brings a New Beginning

Miramar Beach, Fla. – Ohana Day School announced the winner of its Spring 2026 Semester Lottery for the Grand Boulevard location. The selected family, Ragan and Jaetin Bonner, will be joining the Ohana Family with their daughter, Halstyn Bonner, beginning in the Spring 2026 semester.

T he Spring Semester Lottery was open to all new Ohana Day School applicants enrolling between the Fall 2025 semester and start of the Spring 2026 semester. The lottery was designed to introduce new families to the Ohana learning model, offering one student the chance to receive free tuition for the Spring 2026 semester.

“We’re so excited to welcome the Bonner family to Ohana Day School,” said Lettye Burgtorf, Ohana Institute and Ohana Day School co-founder. “Each lottery reminds us how meaningful it is to grow our family and share the Ohana Day School experience with our community.”

Ragan Bonner shared her excitement about Halstyn joining Ohana Day School: “We are so excited and Halstyn is equally as excited! She can’t wait to play with friends and just be around others like her.”

When asked what about Ohana Day School stood out to her and her husband she said, “It was important to find a school that not only seemed safe but nurtured children’s learning. They take priority in the developmental ages, and when they’re young, school is a big part of their lives. After our tour of the classrooms and seeing how bright and interactive everything was, we instantly knew this would be a great fit.”

Ohana Day School serves children ages three to five, offering a holistic environment rooted in the belief that young children learn best through play, exploration, and building meaningful relationships. The school’s student-centered learning approach supports social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development, while nurturing each child’s individual interests.

At the core of Ohana Day School’s philosophy is the “SHELL Model,” developed along Florida’s Gulf Coast, which serves as the foundation of all operations and practices: Safety and Security. Holistic Education. Experiential. Loving Yourself. Loving Others.

As a subsidiary of Ohana Institute, an independent K-12 school, Ohana Day School is a part of a fully accredited private education system that recently joined Kaplan Education Company, expanding access to nationally recognized academic, STEAM, and college-preperatory resources across the Ohana network.
