Introducing Scout Sports Tavern

September 2025

By Quest Hospitality Concepts

Husband-and-wife duo Jeremy and Angela Walton and founders of Quest Hospitality Concepts, the esteemed restaurant group behind the beloved establishments The Citizen and Fonville Press, are pleased to announce their third restaurant: Scout.

Officially opening on Wednesday, August 27, Scout is not a classic sports bar. Located adjacent to scenic Highway 30A in the Watersound Origins community, Scout offers a full-service dining experience that combines elements of sophistication and relaxation—capturing the energy of the sporting world with a refined club feel and an impressive showcase of vintage sports memorabilia throughout.

“Developing Scout from what was once a vision to a brick-and-mortar reality has been an incredibly rewarding journey for our team,” said Jeremy Walton, Owner and Managing Partner of Scout and Quest Hospitality Concepts. “From day one, we set out to create a gathering spot that strikes the perfect balance between elevated and inviting; a place where the community can gather to enjoy a sports game, share good company, and savor a delicious meal. We are thrilled to be opening our doors soon and introducing the community to Scout.”

The kitchen at Scout will be helmed by Executive Chef Todd Hogan. The menu will celebrate the best of classic American fare, including shareable appetizers, fresh salads, elevated burgers, prime steaks, and local seafood. Scout’s beverage program will feature inventive twists on classic cocktails alongside a hand-selected collection of premium bourbons and whiskeys.

As anticipated with any authentic sports tavern, guests can also choose from a selection of crisp domestic and imported beers on tap, as well as craft local pours, and an eclectic wine list. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.

To evoke a true sports tavern experience, Walton hand-sourced pieces of vintage memorabilia adorning the walls at Scout. Notable pieces include a vintage high school football scoreboard (pictured above) purchased from a trip to Iowa that serves as a centerpiece in the game room, a fully restored antique pinball machine that guests can use and charge back to their bar tabs, and a Sports Illustrated gallery wall that features iconic covers from 1960s and 1970s issues.

The interiors are designed in collaboration between architect David Thompson Studio and Quest Hospitality Concepts. Scout’s interiors showcase a warm and club-like ambiance rich in character, embellished by vintage sports memorabilia. Interior touches include wood paneling, comfortable leather seating, and elegant accents of brass, gold, and deep green hues, complemented by a selection of thoughtfully positioned televisions for game-watching enjoyment.

Scout is parceled into four inviting spaces, each with its own personality and intrigue, including the bar and lounge, the main dining room, the game room outfitted with a pool table, shuffleboard, and the refurbished vintage pinball machine, or guests can take their experience outside with the courtyard and outdoor lounge that features both grills and a bocce ball court.
