The REP Theatre Presents: The Fall Play Series 2022 in Seaside, Florida

September 7, 2022

The Fall Play Series is back at The REP Theatre! Fresh off their sold-out performances at the Edinburgh Fringe, distinguished artists Gavin Robertson and Nicholas Collett return to Seaside and light up The REP’s new season. The Fall Play Series features the innovative work of Nic and Gavin with three different shows over three weeks that will provide endless entertainment. The series takes REP audiences on an epic spy adventure with Agent 007 in Bond: An Unauthorized Parody, encounters spooky tales with a comedic twist in The Ghost Of A Smile, and unravels a mysterious whodunnit in Done To Death, By Jove!

Gavin Robertson and Nicholas Collett are an iconic duo who have been wowing audiences in Seaside with their compelling storytelling since making their REP debut in early 2016 with Escape to Create. Their return marks a welcome reunion as Nic and Gavin have established themselves as esteemed visiting artists, continuously inspiring others and garnering rave reviews from their flourishing Seaside fanbase. Their shows have enthralled audiences and enriched the community with their original writing and high-quality performances. “The production of the Fall Play Series speaks to the ongoing impact the collaboration between The REP, E2C, and our loyal audiences and sponsors have made on the community,” said Brook Stetler, Executive Director of The REP Theatre.

The Fall Play Series points to a special time for all at The REP as live theatre moves back inside it’s 75-seat mainstage venue in Seaside and is performed on The REP stage for the first time in three years. Catch The Fall Play Series on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from September 15th – October 1st. All performances begin at 7:30 pm, with doors opening at 7:00 pm.

Tickets are $40 and $32 for REP Members. Or patrons can see all three shows in the series for just $85. For tickets and more information on The REP’s Fall Season, visit LoveTheREP.com.

The Fall Play Series

The REP Fall 2022 Bond An Unauthorized Parody

Bond: An Unauthorized Parody
Thursdays, September 15th, 22nd, and 29th
Show Time: 7:30 pm
Tickets: $40 and $32 for REP Members

Bond is back… older and wisecracking…  Gavin Robertson focuses his attention on the Bond phenomenon in his latest physical cartoon style adventure by spoofing the characters adored by millions, and exploding every cliché in the book(s)… solo! In which Bond meets his greatest arch-villain yet: the creator of James Bond himself, British author Ian Fleming! Along with a slimy French sidekick, the usual female companion, and a time-machine! There’s no stopping the world’s greatest gentleman agent with a license to thrill. Also featuring the smallest car-chase in theatre history! To date this production has been seen in the UK, Eire, USA, Russia and Australia, but there is nowhere he can’t get to…!

The REP Fall 2022 The Ghost of a Smile

The Ghost Of A Smile
Fridays, September 16th, 23rd, and 30th
Show Time: 7:30 pm

Tickets: $40 and $32 for REP Members

Two yarns to chill and charm! Stories with a shiver and a smile! Throughout his illustrious writing career, Charles Dickens often turned his hand to fashioning short pieces of ghostly fiction. While all his supernatural tales aim to send a shiver down the spine, they are not without the usual traits of Dickens’ flamboyant style: his subtle wit, biting irony, humorous incidents and moral observations. Featuring two of Dickens’ creepy tales – with a comic twist. A traveler encounters a ghostly chair, and in a deserted Edinburgh carriageworks, a tipsy reveler is spirited away by…well…spirits! Like “The Woman in Black” – but funnier, with fewer people!

The REP Fall 2022 Done to Death, By Jove!

Done To Death, By Jove!
Saturdays, September 17th, 24th, and October 1st
Show Time: 7:30 pm
Tickets: $40 and $32 for REP Members

“The 39 Steps” meets Agatha Christie via Holmes and Watson! A cast of six bring a comic flurry of suspects and sleuths together to discover whodunnit – and how! Except, well, four of the cast are stuck by the side of the road in the van, and only those two shining knights of the Theatre – Sir Gavin and Sir Nicholas – have managed to get to the venue on time. Of course, ‘the show must go on!” Besides, what could possibly go wrong!? Comic clichés from the Great British Detective genre – secrets, motives and cunning detective-work abound in this genre-busting farcical comedy. It’s not a new idea – it’s been Done to Death, By Jove – but not like this! Promise.
